Valentine Sentenced to 5 Years for Fatal Accident

An Augusta County man was sentenced Friday to five years in prison for killing another man in a drunk driving accident in January 2013.

Twenty-four-year-old David Valentine of Weyers Cave pleaded no contest in Augusta County Circuit Court Friday to charges of DUI manslaughter and first degree DWI.

Valentine was driving a Pontiac Trans Am when he lost control and drove off a steep embankment on Patterson Mill Road near New Hope.

The wreck killed the passenger, 27-year-old Jacob Wonderley of Staunton.
