UVa Basketball Assistant Coaches Get Contract Extensions; Pay Raises

Three University of Virginia assistant basketball coaches have received pay raises and contract extensions.

Ritchie McKay, Jason Williford, and Ron Sanchez all have new deals.   The details were first obtained by the Daily Progress through the Freedom of Information Act and later shared with NBC29.

McKay, Virginia's associate head coach, has a new five-year extension that will pay him $179,800 in base salary and $155,000 in supplemental compensation.  The $334,800 total is an increase from his previous salary of $330,000 annually.   His new contract goes through the 2018-2019 season.  

Williford will get an increase of $60,000 with base salary of $225,000 annually.   The extension runs through the 2017-2018 season.

Sanchez, like Williford, gets an increase of $60,000 with a base salary of $225,000 annually.   His extension also runs through 2017-2018.

All three coaches get a car allowance worth $9,000 per year and all three guys can earn bonuses based on how far Virginia goes in the NCAA Tournament.
