Charlottesville is now ranked by a real estate blog as being one of America’s friendliest cities.
Movoto blog gave the city the number two spot out of 10.
Besides the historical significance of the area, the blog pointed out that people donate very generously to others. About five percent of residents' incomes go to charity.
"That makes a lot of sense. It's a great small town and I enjoyed my time here. It is a super friendly place,” said Carol Shiflett, University of Virginia graduate.
Charlottesville was only surpassed by San Luis Obispo, California.
