Davenport Field is a regional host site for the 5th year in a row
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
Davenport Field will host an NCAA Regional for the 5th year in a row, as Charlottesville has been selected as one of sixteen regional hosts sites for the 2014 NCAA Baseball Tournament.
The selection guarantees Virginia (44-13) a spot in the 64-team tournament field.
The four-team, double-elimination Regional begins Friday, May 30th at Davenport Field.
The three teams joining UVa in the Regional, as well as the eight National Seeds, will be announced Monday.
Virginia is serving as a regional host site for the 8th time in program history.
They are playing in the NCAA Tournament for the 11th year in a row under head coach Brian O'Connor, and the 14th time in program, history.
Miami and Florida State were also selected as a regional host site.
