UPDATE 5/28: Investigators have established the cause of a fire at Hibachi Grill on Route 29 last Friday. Investigators say a grease fire started on a stove in the kitchen and then spread to the hood above.
The cost of the damage is yet to be tallied, and the restaurant is still closed to customers.
A fire that started at Hibachi Grill on Route 29 is now under control.
It took firefighters a little more than an hour to contain the blaze, which they believe started in the kitchen, causing some interior damage. To reach the fire, they had to cut through the roof.
When crews first arrived at the scene, smoke billowed from the building, but the flames didn’t spread. Everyone who was inside at the time was evacuated and there are no reports of injuries.
There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
