Charlottesville's Children, Youth and Family Services celebrated the end of the school year Wednesday for their Play Partners program. They hosted an event for their young students under the nTelos Pavilion.

The Play Partners program prepares children ages two through five for kindergarten by developing a love for learning and reading. Program Development Director Allison Henderson says the program makes sure no children in the community get left behind at this critical age for development.

"We want kids to really leave with a love of learning and a love of reading while increasing their vocabulary, learning how to listen, learning how to stay still in the classroom, and so we're really pleased that all of our outcomes show that at the end of the year,” said Henderson.

She says the program blends learning and playtime so students associate education and fun together.
