CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - Sunday, the tassels have been turned. Thousands of University of Virginia students are celebrating their graduation from Mr. Jefferson's university.

It was a picture perfect day for the more than 30,000 people who showed up on the lawn for the class of 2014's final exercises.

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus served as the keynote speaker.

Those new graduates say they've waited four years for this day and can't believe how fast it got here.

Graduates begin their walk every year at the Rotunda and make their way down to Old Cabell Hall. That will change starting next year due to construction on the Rotunda.

This year's ceremony was the university's 185th final exercises.
