Charlottesville's WillowTree Apps is celebrating another milestone in the company's growth.
It has received the "Fantastic 50" nomination for the state of Virginia for the second year in a row, ranking number nine on the list of fastest growing companies.
WillowTree Apps began in 2008 with just two employees. Now the company has more than 70 and has produced more than 180 mobile apps.
"When people think about tech and mobile, mobility, they tend to think big places like New York, San Francisco, Austin, but we have something really special going on in here in Charlottesville. We've built one of the leading mobility companies in the country, right here at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains." said Mike Moore, the company’s general manager.
WillowTree is the only company from Charlottesville on the list this year.
