Foreign Exchange Program Looking for Host Families for 140 Students

Posted: Updated:
A foreign exchange program called Face the World is bringing students from around the globe to study in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

Soobin Han is a student from South Korea who just graduated middle school and will be studying at The Covenant School for the next two years

She says she's enjoyed getting introduced to all the extra curricular activities American schools have to offer.

"Every day I do new experience, like I did field hockey, I did softball, I did ballroom dancing, I did skating, I went to U.S. Congress and there's like, every day I found new things, like, in life. So I'm actually looking forward to things that I've never been before." said Han.

The program's regional director says it has about 140 students currently looking for host families.

The program can place around 30 to 40 students throughout Virginia. Interested host families should contact Face the World before June 1.
