UPDATE: Cville Homicide Suspect Charged with First-Degree Murder

Police say the suspect in a murder early Saturday morning is still on the loose, and still potentially armed and dangerous.

They're looking for Avery Gray Jr. He's wanted on a first-degree murder charge after Oscar Nathaniel Brown Jr. was found dead outside an apartment complex on Hardy Drive early on May 17. It's Charlottesville's second homicide of 2014.

Police are also searching for Brittany Alamo, who's wanted for being an accessory after the fact in the homicide and for tampering with the evidence.

Police want your help to find this suspect. If you have any tips, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 977- 4000.

On May 17, 2014 at approximately 12:40 a.m., patrol officers with the Charlottesville Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Hardy Drive for a call of shots fired.

Officers arrived on the scene and found an adult male outside of the apartments. The victim was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

The identity of the victim is Oscar Nathaniel Brown Jr. a 36 year old resident of Charlottesville.

Investigators with the Charlottesville Police Department are asking for the community’s assistance in locating 39 year old Avery Fernando Gray, Jr. He is wanted in connection with this homicide and is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gray is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000.
