Season Ends for UVa Women's Tennis in NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals

The Virginia women's tennis team lost 4-2 against Stanford in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals Saturday in Athens, GA, ending the Wahoos' season.

The three-seed UVa was playing in the quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

Defending national champion and 11-seed Stanford won the doubles point to go up 1-0.

Maci Epstein and Danielle Collins won singles matches for Virginia, and Julia Elbaba was leading in the second set when the match ended.

UVa finishes the season with a program-best record of 24-6.

Five of Virginia's top-six singles players will return next season.
