The #1 Virginia baseball team lost 6-5 in ten innings in Game One of a doubleheader at Wake Forest Friday, but bounced back to take the second game 7-2.

Senior Artie Lewicki pitched seven scoreless innings for UVa in Game Two, and gave up just three hits, while making his first start since May 19, 2012.

Virginia pounded out an ACC season-high 17 hits in the win, including a two-run home run by Mike Papi to break a scoreless tie in the 6th.

UVa scored five runs in the 7th inning to blow the game open.

The Demon Deacons had a come-from-behind victory in Game One, scoring three runs on two home runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game, and Conor Keniry drove in the game-winning run in the 10th.

Nathan Kirby pitched 7.1 innings for UVa, allowing just one earned run on four hits while striking out seven.

Nick Howard was charged with his first loss of the season, after giving up the game-tying two-run home run in the 9th, and the single by Keniry in extra innings.

Kenny Towns went 2-for-5 with two RBI at the plate for Virginia.

UVa (43-10, 22-7 ACC) and Wake Forest play the series finale in Winston-Salem Saturday at two o'clock.

Miami (39-15, 23-6 ACC) split a doubleheader at home against Miami Friday

A Hurricanes loss and a Wahoo win in the regular season finale Saturday would give UVa the #1 overall seed in the ACC Tournament, as UVa owns the head-to-head tiebreaker against Miami.
