VSP Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Louisa

Virginia State Police Trooper S.A. Gaultney is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred May 10, 2014, in Louisa County. The crash occurred at 8:13 p.m. on Route 613 at a railroad crossing, less than a mile north of Route 22.

A 2008 Honda CBR 1000 was traveling east along Route 613/Oakland Road when it came upon a railroad crossing. As the motorcycle crossed the tracks, its operator lost control, was thrown from the bike, and struck the side of a nearby service shed.

The motorcyclist, Isaac M. Meredith Jr., 28, of Landover, Md., died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
