Albemarle Police Charge Suspect in Earlysville Shooting

Albemarle County police have charged a suspect in connection with a shooting in Earlysville Tuesday.
Albemarle police responded to the shooting just before 8:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Durrett Ridge Road. A man at the scene was found with a gunshot wound.
The victim was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious injuries. Police say they believe he is recovering and those injuries are non-life threatening.
Police arrested a suspect, 34-year-old Robert Lee Jarvis Jr., nearly eight hours later in the 2800 block of Burnt Mill Road.
Family members say Jarvis shot his ex-wife's boyfriend and then went home.
Jarvis faces four felony charges, including two counts of malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
He is being held at the Albemarle - Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.

An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, May 6th on Durrett Ridge Road.
At 7:57 p.m. units with the Albemarle County Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Durrett Ridge Road for reports of a physical disorder with shots fired. When officers arrived at the scene they found one male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim and the suspect were known to each other.
The investigation led officers and detectives to Burnt Mill Road in search of the suspect. The suspect, Robert Lee Jarvis, Jr, was arrested without incident at 4:07 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7th in the 2800 block of Burnt Mill Road.
Robert Jarvis, Jr. was charged with four felony counts including two counts of malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony and one count of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Jarvis was taken to the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail where he is being held without bond.<
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
