Two CHS Student-Athletes Make Plans to Play in College
Charlottesville HS athletes Scott Christman adn Sam Runkle are both ready to play at the next level.
Christman has signed to play soccer at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. He has four goals and five assists this season.
Runkle is an All-American defenseman who has signed to play at Dartmouth. Runkle missed last season with a torn ACL, and although he is not physically imposing, coaches say he plays smart and has great anticipation.
Runkle says, " I'll definitely have a long stick in my hands whether that's at midfield or on defense we'll see. What I think I'm going to major in is business, which is top of the line at Dartmouth, their business school is ranked one or two in the nation each year so that'll be a great springboard for getting me into my career."
Christman says, "Center midfield is my natural position but as long as I try to start I don't care what position I play so I might move around. Its pretty awesome, I'm pretty excited for the future, the next four years."
Both guys are in the middle of their senior season in the respective sports.
