Give4Good Raises Money for Charlottesville-Area Nonprofits
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
The clock is ticking down in a 24-hour campaign to donate to more than 140 central Virginia nonprofits.
Whole Foods is chipping in to the Give4Good effort, organized by the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. The market is giving $1 to the online donation drive for every customer who shops there Tuesday.
“The community has really paid attention and they are really looking for ways to support the Give4Good day, so we're already seeing a huge spike in our customer count and people coming in excited and talking about this great opportunity,” said Whole Foods marketing team leader Kristen Rabourdin.
The Paramount Theater and other nonprofits rallied supporters on the downtown mall to donate to Give4Good Tuesday. More than 2,100 donors have contributed more than $300,000 so far.
The campaign ends at midnight.
