HARRISONBURG, Va (WVIR) -

A James Madison University student has been charged with trying to solicit a child online for sex as part of a sting operation in Augusta County.

Matthew Priebe, 24, was arrested on charges of trying to expose sexual parts to a child and using electronics to solicit sex from a child.

Police say an undercover cop was posing as a 13-year-old girl last week as part of an investigation, and that Priebe sent sexual messages and an explicit picture to the bogus teen.

Priebe is scheduled to appear in Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court on June 25.
