JMU Women's Lax Falls 12-11 in OT in CAA Championship Game

HARRISONBURG, Va (WVIR) - The James Madison women's lacrosse team lost 12-11 in overtime against Towson in the CAA Championship Game Sunday in Williamsburg.

The Tigers have won the league title three years in a row, and earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

JMU did not receive an at-large invitation into the NCAA Tournament, and finish the regular season with a record of 11-7.

The Dukes were trailing 10-9 with 2:20 remaining in regulation, when Ali Curwin scored a goal to send the game to a five-minute overtime.

Towson outscored JMU 2-1 in the OT period.

James Madison (11-7) trailed 5-0 early in the title match, and never held the lead.

JMU also lost 12-11 in overtime against the Tigers during the regular season.
