Habitat for Humanity Homeowners Participate in Field Day
Sunrise Park neighborhood
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
Habitat for Humanity homeowners are benefiting from a Field Day in Charlottesville. It was filled with activities, including a three-legged race.
Youth United coordinated the event in Habitat for Humanity's Sunrise Park neighborhood. The houses replaced mobile homes.
Construction finished in the past year, and organizers say it's nice to see people out enjoying their new neighborhood.
“In Habitat it's always a partnership, and it's been great to see these strangers move in with folks who have been here for years and it's just become a real neighborhood,” said Youth United coordinator Mary Maxfield.
Donations collected at Saturday's Field Day will go toward sponsorships for habitat homes.
