Augusta Man to Serve Over 40 Years on Murder, Firearm Charges

STAUNTON, Va (WVIR) -

An Augusta County man convicted of killing his estranged wife's boyfriend will spend more than four decades behind bars.

The Staunton Circuit Court judge stuck with the jury's recommendation for Steven Glenn Moore's punishment.

He was found guilty earlier this year of shooting and killing Van Bell Jr. in March of 2013. Wednesday afternoon, Moore was sentenced to 43 years in prison.

The victim's mother, Alice Fauber, says that while she believes justice was done nobody wins.

"I don't have my son. He don't have his family, his son. So who won? It'll just have to be like that the rest of our life,” Fauber said.

Moore will serve 40 for the first-degree murder charge and three for a firearm charge.
