Four CHS Football Players Make Plans to Play at the Next Level
Four Charlottesville High School football players have made plans to play in college.
All-conference linemen Will White and Jeremiah Jordan will attend Division II UVa-Wise. Wide receiver/defensive back Leon Straus is headed to Garden City junior college in Kansas and running back Chris Thurston has an offer from Division II Virginia Union, but is hoping to enroll at Fork Union where he can get his grades up and get physically bigger.
Thurston says, "I need to get bigger, I'm a tiny guy, I might not play like it but I'm tiny. Going to Fork Union I'm looking for a place that will help me out academically and my ability in football."
Straus says, "My parents played basketball in high school, I always wanted to continue on. The situation they were in, they got hurt, I always wanted to carry the load on my back and make them proud."
White, said, "I love the athletic program, they're really building a lot there. I really like the facilities and the academics were pretty good too."
Jordan says, " We can both show what we got down there, show what Charlottesville can raise up. You know.
