#1 Virginia Baseball Clinches Series Victory against North Carolina

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - The #1 Virginia baseball team beat North Carolina 3-1 Saturday at Davenport Field, clinching the series victory against the Tar Heels in front of a sellout crowd of 5,025 fans.

The Cavaliers only had three hits in the game, but one of them was a two-run home run by Kenny Towns to make it 3-0 in the 2nd inning.

Josh Sborz got the win for the 'Hoos, allowing nine hits and one run over five innings.

Nick Howard finished the game with his league-leading 13th save of the season.

Virginia (33-6, 16-4 ACC) and North Carolina will wrap up the series Sunday at 1 PM at Davenport Field.
