Real estate taxes are going up in Fluvanna County. This week, supervisors approved a budget for the next fiscal year.

Come July, the real estate tax is going up from 79.5 cents to 88 cents per $100 of assessed value. That means someone with a home worth $100,000 will pay an additional $85.

Fluvanna's total budget is just over $80 million.

That includes just over $15 million for schools. Fluvanna schools will receive about $170,000 less than originally requested.
