The #1 ranked UVa baseball team scored in all but one inning on Wednesday night and limited the nation's top ranked scoring offense to a season-low four hits in beating William & Mary 11-2.

Virginia starting pitcher Artie Lewicki pitched five innings, giving up just 1 hit, and striking out a career-high eight batters in improving to 3-0 on the season.

Virginia freshman Matt Thaiss went 3-for-3 with a pair of RB to highlight Virginia's 14-hit night.

Thaiss said, "The mid-week games can be a little dull but everyone was fired up from pitch one and we knew William and Mary is a good ball club and they've been really hot and we stepped up when we needed to and played really well."

Virginia improves to 31-6 with the win and begins a 3-game home series with North Carolina starting Friday.
