Cville, Albemarle Featured in Film about Population Growth

Posted: Updated:

Charlottesville and Albemarle County are part of a film focusing on growth in the area. The film, called “GrowthBusters: Hooked on Growth,” takes a look at population growth and the costs associated with it.

Charlottesville and Albemarle are featured in the film to show what Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population (ASAP) is doing. The group says the city and the county need to figure out what its optimal size should be and stick to it.

"One of the reasons that we're showing the film right here in Charlottesville is because Dave Gardner came and filmed Charlottesville and our organization as an example of what a community could be doing to try to raise consciousness about the impacts of population growth,” said Jack Marshall, president of ASAP.

The film was shown at Central Library in Charlottesville as part of earth week events by ASAP.
