Pageant Winner Talks to Wilson Elementary Students about Bullying

Posted: Updated:
AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -

Students in part of Augusta County heard an important message from a special visitor Wednesday. Miss Virginia Junior Lexi Crosen of Culpeper talked to kids at Wilson Elementary School about bullying.

She wanted to let the children know bullying is not OK, and to and teach them the steps they can take to stop it. The issue is personal for Crosen.

"One of the reasons I go to people and talk about bullying is because I've been bullied over social media, and people made up rumors about me, and I lost a lot of my friends. But going to the people and talking to adults I've got all my friends back,” she said.

Students from kindergarten to fifth grade took part in the presentation. They also made pledges against bullying.

Crosen's platform includes helping children with special needs.
