FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -

A game of putt-putt on a traveling miniature golf course is benefiting an animal sanctuary in Fluvanna County.

Miniature Golf on the Go rolled out the new 18-hole course for a spring fundraiser for Caring for Creatures. The event was held in a space next to the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Squad.

Golfers of all ages got to take a swing on the challenging terrain for charity.

“The miniature golf is one of the few things that I think we can utilize to make the difference between all the nonprofits that are seeking contribution,” said owner Cam White. “This is something that the family can do that they actually can do together.”

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Palmyra-based Caring for Creatures nonprofit. Organizers hope to expand their operation to include Charlottesville soon.
