The #16 Virginia women's lacrosse team upset #8 Boston College 16-14 Thursday at Klockner Stadium in UVa's final home game of the regular season.

The victory is the 4th in a row for the Cavaliers (8-6), and Virginia improves to 2-3 in the ACC.

Senior Liza Blue says, "We definitely needed this win. Across the board I though everyone contributed on attack, and defensively, we had some huge stops."

Head coach Julie Myers adds, "Our team did a great job. We really rallied around the fourth-year's. They all had big performances. We're excited to just look forward to this next game against Maryland Sunday."

Junior Courtney Swan had four goals and two assists, while Blue added three goals and three assists.

Senior Maddy Keeshan scored four goals for the Wahoos.

Keeshan says, "We only have ACC games left. All these games are huge, but this one especially. Senior Night. Klockner. Under the lights. It can't really get better than that."

Virginia will travel to face #2 Maryland Sunday at one o'clock.
