Quilts Up for Bid to Benefit Hospice of the Shenandoah
More than 50 quilts are up for bid at Augusta Health's biggest fundraiser of the year.
The annual Quilts of Comfort auction at Expoland in Fishersville benefits the Hospice of the Shenandoah’s gifted care program. Each one comes with a story of inspiration often memorializing a loved one who has died.
Last year the auction raised $50,000.
"I was completely humbled last year at what this community is capable of doing. With a goal of a mere $10,000 and to walk away from here, I was in tears. All we could say was 'Wow, God is good,’" Said Lori Showalter, volunteer coordinator at Hospice of the Shenandoah.
There's a pre-show Friday night with the auction and other events beginning Saturday morning.
