Construction at McIntire Road to Affect Dogwood Festival Traffic
Traffic at McIntire Road
The Dogwood Festival carnival gets underway at McIntire Park Thursday afternoon - but if you're headed out, you may want to plan ahead for some traffic.
With construction going on at McIntire Road for the John Warner Parkway, some people are worried traffic could make getting down to the festival a headache.
Festival organizer T.D. Layman says to avoid McIntire Road if you can. That's easy to do if you're not coming from the city - but if you are, that will require some planning. Parking will be a challenge too.
“Night one, which is tonight, parking will be fine, but tomorrow for pork barbecue and fireworks, all general parking is at Charlottesville High School. Handicapped parking is available at McIntire Park,” said Layman.
The most traffic is expected Thursday and Friday nights, but don't let that deter from having fun on the midway.
