United Way, nTelos Donate TVs to Valley Nonprofits
A couple of Waynesboro businesses were picking up some free TVs Wednesday.
The United Way of Greater Augusta partnered with nTelos Wireless to give 37 flat-screen TVs to valley nonprofits. United Way made its decisions of deserving recipients based on the greatest potential impact. The TVs will serve in educating, informing, training and entertaining the community.
The Salvation Army plans to put the television it received in the client waiting area.
"We'll be able to run some continuous loops of some of the programs that we offer, as well as educational information using it as a resource tool,” said Jason Perdieu, a Salvation Army lieutenant.
Perdieu says it's something they definitely wouldn't have been able to afford.
