The Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards ceremony Tuesday night.
Nascar driver Ryan Newman and his wife Krissie, who founded the nonprofit animal welfare organization “Rescue Ranch” in North Carolina, spoke at the ceremony. They talked about the importance of partnerships in the community.
"You don't always just have to start things from scratch,” said Krissie Newman. “That there are other resources available and hopefully we'll grow into the point where we'll be resources for other groups that are doing humane education."
