Augusta Chamber of Commerce Holds Awards Ceremony

The Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards ceremony Tuesday night.

Nascar driver Ryan Newman and his wife Krissie, who founded the nonprofit animal welfare organization “Rescue Ranch” in North Carolina, spoke at the ceremony. They talked about the importance of partnerships in the community.

"You don't always just have to start things from scratch,” said Krissie Newman. “That there are other resources available and hopefully we'll grow into the point where we'll be resources for other groups that are doing humane education."

The award recipients are listed below:

Citizen of the Year: Linda Roland

Industry of the Year: Daikin Applied

Small Business of the Year: Chick-Fil-A of Waynesboro

Entrepreneur of the Year: Lynn Breeden, Owner LTD7

Tourism Business of the Year: Fields of Gold Program, CSPDC.

Agriculture Business of the Year: Countryside Organics

Volunteer of the Year: Phil Dixon, Owner Aspect Media Inc.

Ambassador of the Year: Heather Killen, Branch Manager, Union First Market Bank

Sponsor of the Year: Eddie Edwards Signs

Community Organization of the Year: Stonewall Jackson Area Council Boy Scouts
