Culpeper Man Arrested, Charged with Malicious Wounding
Culpeper County Sheriff's Office Press Release
Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing that took place this afternoon in Culpeper.
At about 3:03 pm, units were dispatched to the 20000 block of Batna Road for a 911 hang-up. Minutes later, a dispatcher made contact with the caller and found the incident to be a domestic between three adults.
When deputies arrived at about 3:20, the incident had evolved from a domestic between parents and adult child to a barricade situation after suspect, Perry M. Wanzer, 43-year-old male, of Culpeper, inserted himself into the argument and stabbed the 65-year-old male parent and his 22-year-old daughter.
Law enforcement persuaded Wanzer to give himself up, and he was taken into custody.
The male victim was transported by helicopter to Mary Washington Hospital, and the female victim was transported by ambulance to Culpeper Regional Hospital.
Wanzer was held without bond for aggravated malicious wounding.
