Republican Congressman Bob Goodlatte is asking the feds to explain why the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) chose to halt work on the Route 29 Western Bypass.
In a letter, Goodlatte complains that the stoppage has placed significant resources in limbo and only further extends the timetable for addressing the highway needs of the region. He says that's especially true for places south of Charlottesville.
Goodlatte's 6th District includes Lynchburg, Amherst County and part of Bedford County.
