A man and his mother are behind bars after a family fight escalated into a standoff with police overnight Monday in Augusta County.

Virginia State Police and the Augusta County Sheriff's Office responded to the 30 block of Church Street in Greenville around midnight.

Leroy Huffman, 29, was arrested after police say he threatened to burn down a home. Deputies say the SWAT team had to force their way in after Huffman barricaded himself inside for several hours.

Huffman's mother, Dorris Farren, and Mary Doyle, face obstruction of justice charges.

There is no mugshot for Mary Doyle because she was issued a summons.
