Staunton’s ‘Teacher of the Year’ Announced

STAUNTON, Va (WVIR) -

Staunton school administrators announced the teacher of the year Monday night.

One by one, six teachers were recognized at the school board meeting: Nicole Hostetter of Bessie Weller Elementary School, Holly Lefcheck of McSwain Elementary School, Karen Grady of Ware Elementary School, Gina Gaines of Dixon Educational Center, John Hostetter of Shelburne Middle School, and Heather Durham of Robert E. Lee High School.

Durham took home top honors as teacher of the year. She has been teaching ninth-grade and AP English at Robert E. Lee for 10 years.
