National Counterterrorism Center Director Speaks at UVA

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of University of Virginia students got an up-close look at our country's national security issues Monday. Matthew Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, spoke to Professor Larry Sabato’s Introduction to American Politics class.

Olsen talked to students about his experience working in the national security and intelligence fields.

Tim Robinson of the UVA Center for Politics stated, “a lot of politicians are going to talk about their personal experiences and elections but these are real important issues that affect the daily lives of just any American citizen."

After the speech students got to ask Olsen questions.

Olsen is a UVA grad himself.
