Posted: Updated:
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -

Some special pups in central Virginia are now graduates of a program that trains them for life-saving skills and loyalty. Service Dogs of Virginia held a graduation ceremony at Buford Middle School on Sunday for its 2013 class to celebrate the hard work that's changing lives of people with special needs.

Eight service dogs got some time in the spotlight to mark the official end to their training. The pups are paired with people who have disabilities and can benefit from this kind of best friend.

To learn more about these dogs and the bonds they have with their owners, watch the video above.
