The week-long Friends of the Library Book Sale wrapped up Sunday at the Gordon Avenue Branch in Charlottesville.
Organizers estimate they sold $90,000-$100,000 worth of used books, movies, and CDs.
Proceeds help fund Jefferson Madison Regional Library programs and services, particularly children's programs
“They have a fabulous summer reading program,” said Bill Davis. “They bring in nationally recognized story tellers, magicians, craft people. It’s very popular.”
The sale has been so successful that the manager says it's outgrown the Gordon Avenue space. A search will begin to find a new location to host the sale in the next few years.
