Pittsburgh hit a walk-off sac fly to ice their 2-1 upset over top-ranked UVa Saturday at the Peterson Sports Complex.
In the ninth inning, the Panther's Jordan Frabasilio drove a ball deep into center field. UVa's Brandon Downes was able to make the catch, but Pitt's A.J. Lardo tagged up and scored the game-winning run.
Virginia knotted the game at 1-1 in the seventh inning when Downes hit a grounder to plate Joe McCarthy.
UVa starting pitcher Josh Sborz pitched five innings allowing five hits and three walks while striking out five.
The 'Hoos 9-game win streak comes to end as they fall to 26-5 (11-3 ACC).
Virginia will play Pitt in the rubber match Sunday at 1 PM.
