UVa Softball Falls in Saturday DH Against UNC

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - The Virginia softball dropped both games in a doubleheader against UNC Saturday.

The 'Hoos fall to 4-31 on the season.

UNC's Jenna Kelly set the tone in game one with a grand slam in the fifth inning to seal the Tar Heels 7-0 victory over UVa.

Virginia starting pitcher, Aimee Chapdelaine, worked the mound for seven innings allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out five.

In game two, UNC's stellar hitting continued as the Tar Heels beat the 'Hoos 3-1.

Tar Heel catcher, Amber Parrish, homered to left field to put UNC up 2-0 in the sixth inning.

Virginia pitcher, Marcy Bowdren, worked for six innings allowing two hits and three runs while striking out two.

The Wahoos will play game three Sunday at noon in Charlottesville.
