CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
Eleven different players scored for Virginia, as the #16 Cavalier women's lacrosse team beat American University 18-4 Tuesday night at Klöckner Stadium.

Courtney Swan has three goals for the 'Hoos, while Mary Alati added two goals and two assists.

UVa improves its record to 6-6 with the win, and has won back-to-back games for the first time all season.

Junior Casey Bocklet says, "I think we needed these games to show we are a strong team, we can compete. It was definitely a confidence boost that we needed going in to the homestretch of the season."

Head coach Julie Myers adds, "It was important to break even again, and hopefully score a bunch of goals, while we limit them to just a few. I think we got exactly what we needed out of today, as we're about to head out to Notre Dame."

Virginia will play at the #6 Fighting Irish Saturday at three o'clock.
