“This has been and continues to be a very difficult investigation involving extremely violent and senseless crimes. We are truly grateful for all of the assistance we have received along the way – from the Virginia State Police and the Harrisonburg Police Department at the scene that night to the U.S. Marshals and Richmond Police Department in making the arrest on Friday. Throughout, we have worked very closely with our Commonwealth’s Attorney Marsha Garst, and together our work is not finished.

We will continue to gather and organize any and all evidence that will assist us in obtaining convictions for these horrible crimes. Due to the active and ongoing nature of the investigation, there is no additional information that we are able to release at the present time. We ask for your understanding on this, as we will most likely be releasing additional information in the future, but again we are not able to do so at this time.”
