According to the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA), the areas affected by the water outages included Farmington, Flordon, Ivy Creek, Kearsarge, Greencroft, West Leigh and areas along Owensville Road.
Crews located and isolated the break in the Ivy Creek subdivision. Water pressure was gradually restored and ACSA crews flushed water lines until the system returned to normal.
Repair continued through the afternoon. ACSA says those affected experienced some discoloration in their water and advised that they run the water for a short period before using it.
