The UVa basketball team practiced at Madison Square Garden Thursday afternoon, getting ready to take on Michigan State in the Sweet Sixteen.

Known as the "World's Most Famous Arena", MSG is hosting NCAA Tournament games for the first time in 53 years.

UVa senior guard Joe Harris says"its a special thing that we get to play here with all the history and tradition that it has, all the great players that have had an opportunity to play in here."

UVa sophomore forward Mike Tobey says, " it's a really cool feeling, the world's greatest arena, I'm speechless its a really good feeling."

UVa senior forward Akil Mitchell says, "Its cool to think about and to get to play here is something you dream about as a kid."

UVa sophomore guard Malcolm Brogdon says, "Its exciting, it's a real privilege to play in this arena, a lot of great players have come through here, we're going to try to make our mark tomorrow."

The Spartans are the more experienced team under the bright lights. They've already played in MSG this season and have made it to the Sweet Sixteen each of the past three years.

UVa sophomore forward, Anthony Gill says, "We know what we want to do here at Virginia. In order to win games, we're going to have to play as a unit and play defense. Regardless if they've been here, we're going to go out and play our game."

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo has led the Spartans to the Final Four six times in his 19 years at Michigan State.

Every senior class has experienced the Final Four except this one, and the Spartans are looking to change that in their final chance.

Michigan State senior Gary Harris says, "We know we haven't made it to a Final Four and we know we have to try to lead us there so we don't break his record, it means a lot to us.  We don't want to be a part of the team that broke Tom Izzo's great streak."
Izzo says, "We've been through so much, that I really didn't need that burden put on them, so I didn't talk about it much except to say, getting to the Final Four, if you are in this profession, there is nothing better and I want all my guys to share in that at least once."

Virginia and Michigan State play Friday on TBS at 9:57pm.
