Annual Dogwood Tree Sale Kicks Off at Barracks Road Shopping Center
If you're lucky you might have just enough time to get your hands on one of spring's most popular plants before they sell out.
The Annual Dogwood Tree Sale is taking place Friday at the Barracks Road Shopping Center. The trees come in three colors: white, red, and pink, as well as two sizes: 3-foot and 4-foot.
Organizers hope to raise between $4,000 and $5,000 to support the Dogwood Festival - and they expect the trees to sell out soon.
"It is the state flower and it's the most gorgeous one, It's the Dogwood tree,” said TD Layman, Charlottesville Dogwood Festival president. "Dogwood trees this year as well as the last couple years are going to sell, and they're going to sell fast.”
The trees may bloom this year, but it will likely be next year before you get to see their colorful flower petals.
The sale will continue Friday evening until all the trees are sold.
