Female Education Leaders Meet in Albemarle for Annual Conference
Women Education Leaders in Virginia Conference
Educators from across the state met in Albemarle County Thursday for a statewide networking event.
The 17th Annual Women Education Leaders in Virginia Conference was held Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel. The conference began at the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education in 1997 as an effort to help women reach leadership roles in the education field.
One principal from Fluvanna County says she picked up some valuable teaching strategies.
"Meeting with people who are in those schools that are truly high-performing. I mean they have strategies that we can implement and that's what, you know, I come to try to get that information,” said Yardley Farquharson, principal at Fluvanna County Middle School.
The morning session featured a speaker from the College of William and Mary who spoke about information retention strategies for young students.
