A volunteer group at the University of Virginia Cancer Center is hosting a free breakfast for the community to learn about the latest research and treatments.
The Patients and Friends group puts together the annual breakfast at Alumni Hall.
Thursday’s breakfast will introduce the Cancer Center's new director, Dr. Tom Loughran, to explain new discoveries in blood cancers.
“All the treatment that's currently accepted in the community has come from investigational efforts, what we call clinical trials, at the major cancer centers. We offer hope for the next generation as well as people currently living with cancer in terms of developing new treatments,” said Loughran.
The free breakfast will take place Thursday at Alumni Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For more information, click here.
