One Charlottesville nonprofit raised money for an upcoming race Saturday morning over flapjacks.
The Virginia Institute of Autism held its second pancake breakfast at the Vinegar Hill Cafe. For every eight dollars spent, two dollars will go towards putting on the group's 5K race next month.
Many of the organization's staff and families have come out to show their support.
“It's a really neat opportunity for our families and our staff to get together and have fun on the weekend, and also just people who support our cause - people who run our 5K, who are familiar with our work,” VIA communications coordinator Kristin Twiford said.
This year's "Run for Autism" 5K will be held on Saturday, April 12.
