Cville Parents Get Tips at 2nd Annual Parenting Power Workshop
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
Charlottesville parents got to plug in to powerful tips from area professionals Saturday to strengthen connections with their kids.
About 175 people came out for the second annual Parenting Power Workshop at Burley Middle School.
The event featured a keynote speaker and three "Ages in Stages" breakout sessions for parents of elementary, middle, and high school students. There was also a workshop held for grandparents raising children.
“Raising children does not come with a recipe, so when we talk with each other, when we share what we know, when we alert them about resources that are available in the community, that helps our parents and grandparents raise their children to be the best they can be,” said Charlottesville associate superintendent Gertrude Ivory.
Organizers offered Spanish translations for a handful of the presentations this year. The event will be offered again next year.
